We are the Delta Psi chapter of the pharmaceutical fraternity, Kappa Psi. We are based out of the University of Minnesota- Duluth. Our objective is to support all projects which will advance the profession of pharmacy and actively participate in them. We aim to inspire our members a deep and lasting pride in Kappa Psi, and the profession of pharmacy.
Kappa Psi was founded on May 30th 1879, at the Russell Military Academy in New Haven, Connecticut. Originally organized into two collegiate chapters, the Delta Chapter for the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and the Gamma Chapter at the New York College of Pharmacy. In 1924 the medical-pharmaceutical affiliation was terminated and split into two organizations: the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and the Theta Kappa Psi Medical Fraternity.
Kappa Psi is the world's oldest and largest pharmaceutical fraternity. Currently, Kappa Psi has 111 active collegiate chapters, and 73 graduate chapters, across the United States, Canada, and the Bahamas. Over 80,000 people have been initiated into Kappa Psi.
The Delta Psi chapter of Kappa Psi was founded on July 10th, 2005, at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy at Duluth. Since then our brothers have worked hard to help Northern Minnesota. Delta Psi currently has 26 members, and are fortunate to have numerous faculty members who are also Kappa Psi alumni.
